About Me

My Photo
fashion runway
"Every day is a fashion show, and the world is your runway!" What can I say? If I have a vice, it would have to be shopping and designer brands. I love nice things! I love to buy and sell them. It's my Mom's fault. She raised me this way! We shopped all day long every Saturday all of my years growing up at home. She made me the fashion addict that I am today! http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/fashionrunway

HOT PANTS, Boy Shorts and Short Shorts : the new fashion trend for Spring 2010

"The fashion trends have pointed to it, and given the popularity of the likes of lingerie as outerwear it really comes as no surprise. Yes, hem lines continually become shorter as time marches on, but Spring 2010 may be the first season where hem lines can be predominantly measured in negative figures.

It was on the Spring 2010 catwalks. And again in the front row. Always on the confident personality. Always on a great figure.

Those two latter parts are key to this fashion trend. It is not for the faint of heart, nor those who aren't confident about their figure."
If you have got it....Flaunt it!

Asymmetric is Back!

The asymmetric trend is back! For example, one-shoulder dresses, or tops with different sides and skirts with staggered hems. And don't forget the asymmetrical bathing suits! They are simply irresistible... designers would agree. You don't need to spend a lot to try this popular trend for summer for asymmetric and one-shouldered styles that'll bring runway style to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

One Shoulder Monokinis and Cut-Out Swimsuits are hot for 2009!

Taking their cues from the one shoulder fashion trend, one-shouldered bikinis will be the must have swimwear in 2009.

This summer,cut-away clothes pieces are a major trend of 2009 and much like the one shoulder trend, it's a style being applied to bikinis and swimwear. Infrequently demure, this really is one bikini trend that screams hotness!

Polka Dots are back IN!!

Antiquated in name and retro by association, the polka dot hasn't been fashion's premiere pattern in ages. While the simple spots are typically associated with wholesome fare such as itsy bitsy bikinis and Minnie Mouse skirts, thanks to directional designers, the print is reenergized and feeling fresh again.

Off the runways, polka dots are already receiving quite a bit of attention from an interesting range of women. The real world version of this trend is easy enough to achieve: just limit yourself to one polka-dotted piece at a time and you'll be fine!

LA PERLA of Italy

La Perla is one of the biggest names in Italian fashion. La Perla leads the Italian luxury sector.

From the catwalks in Milan, La Perla's hot swimwear creations are highly desired by celebrities. Founded in Italy in 1954, the La Perla Lingerie Fashion Group has grown to become a world leader in lingerie and beachwear. Exclusive materials, elegant designs and a unique, craft-based work philosophy make La Perla creations unfailingly feminine.

Sophisticated, luxurious and expensive, La Perla's beautiful creations have been worn by actresses and celebrities. The company's pieces have even become highly prized as collectibles. It all began in the 1950's when the company's founder, Ada Masotti, a concierge, started making corsets for wealthy women. Her fashionable, carefully-made lingerie became very popular and she started to develop the company with her partner, Ubaldo Borgomanero.

Masotti's motto is: 'Never compromise on quality and innovation.' The company has certainly aspired to this.

Could FAQ Pages Boost Your Google Rankings??

Something to ponder:

If you have your own website, new information coming out suggests that having a FAQ page may boost your Google rankings! The length of search queries has increased over the past year. Longer search queries, averaging searches of 5+ words in length, have increased 10% from January '08 to January '09.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt said recently, "Wouldn’t it be nice if Google understood the meaning of your phrase rather than just the words that are in that phrase? We have a lot of discoveries in that area that [we] are going to roll out in the next little while."

"Web business should take notice of Question/Answering sites that have been built and SEO'd to fill the search engine rankings for these types of user questions (e.g. Q&A aggregators like WikiAnswers, AnswerBag, and Yahoo Answers). Web businesses may benefit by creating FAQ content that is targeted at answering real user questions about their products."FAQs as relevant results to intent-based searches about what your business offers. What a concept!"

Are you Trustworthy? Bonanzle new feature.

TRUST...a word that has EVERYTHING to do with online shopping.

When shopping online, TRUST is everything! Buyers look at your feedback to decide if they should give you their money. Sellers look at your feedback to determine how reputable you are, and likelihood of receiving payment. Most all shopping sites now have a Rating or Feedback System, where both buyer and seller can view your past history.

Bonanzle has now added a "MORE" section to every members item page . When viewing an item on Bonanzle, on the left hand side beside the sellers name, there is now a Feedback rating, and a section titled "MORE" . When you click "More" , you will be taken to a page that breaks down the "Trust Factor" for that seller with links to find more information.

At a quick glance now, you can determine alot about the "Trustability" of this seller/buyer.

Just one more way that BONANZLE goes the extra mile to add features that continue to "grow" the site. Way to go Bill and Mark!!!

Go see for yourself why Bonanzle is the hottest and fastes growing shopping site!

Gotta Love Gaultier!!

"After working for Pierre Cardin and Jean Patou, Jean Paul Gaultier set out on his own to create a womenswear line. The label’s gender-bending, deconstructed aesthetic, and risqué collaborations—like Madonna’s infamous cone-shaped bra for the 1990 Blonde Ambition tour—gave the designer his “enfant terrible” reputation. He’s also known as one of the industry’s master tailors, with a knack for tuxes, trenches, and leather, and a tendency to embrace equestrian, military, and royal tropes—all with a sense of fun. In 1999, Hermès bought 35 percent of the Jean Paul Gaultier company, which gave the brand capital to open up stores in East Asia. It also opened up another window for the designer; in 2004, Hermès hired him as head womenswear designer for the label. "

Costume National

COSTUME NATIONAL is one of my favorite designer brands! I ESPECIALLY love the funky and hip shoes!
Ennio Capasa is the designer behind the label Costume National (C'N'C). Costume National has turned out to be one of the Italian fashion powerhouses.

A graduate of the Milan Academy of Fine Arts, Ennio Capasa worked for Yohji Yamamoto in Tokyo.

When he returned to Italy, he launched Costume National, a fashion house about "French uniform".

Mixing the influences of the east and the west, Ennio Capasa's designs are innovative and challenged the status quo of the fashion design industry.

Are your Blog Followers disappearing?

Monday, February 23, 2009

Are you scratching your head and wondering why your public blog followers are disappearing by the dozens today? Well, don't worry about it. You're not alone. Many bloggers are having the same problem (including me) and have been panicked and puzzled scrambling to figure it out.
It seems that Blogger is in the process of making a few changes to their system and they are aware of this problem. Read all about it on the Blogger Help Forum. Keep in mind that your followers have NOT been deleted. They're actually still following your blog. They have simply gone from "public" to "anonymous", and appear to you to have disappeared. We will hope this gets resolved soon.

CARMEN MARC VALVO Swimwear

Create myspace graphic with Gickr

Carmen Marc Valvo is one of my favorite swimsuit designers and he is also one of my best-sellers! I have many suits from his line whether you or looking for a bikini, a one-piece, or a cover-up. Stop by my booth and take a look. I have them MUCH cheaper than you will get them at Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue!

Carmen Marc Valvo is an American designer who, since 1989, has been exploring his desire to bring glamorous dressing to every woman's life. Although his sumptuous creations have made him a favorite among Hollywood's top leading ladies including Beyoncé, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lucy Liu, Oprah Winfrey, Kim Cattrall, Queen Latifah, Radha Mitchell and Vanessa Williams, it's his devotion to his non-celebrity clients that have made him a star. TIME Magazine stood up and took notice of Carmen after his Fall 2005 collection in a feature story saying "While other designers seek to shock, Valvo's creations shine in the marketplace."

Valvo's professional career began as a designer for Nina Ricci in Paris, followed by a stint at Christian Dior. Buyers at both Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus have been won over by Valvo. His swimsuits are highly anticipated and sought after.

Valvo's superb tailoring, understanding of fit issues and masterful detailing have distinguished him from his peers. "Over the years, the designer has demonstrated the talent to do it all."
